Beautiful Crochet Scarf And Ear Warmer Christmas Gift Project
This beautiful crochet scarf and ear warmer Christmas gift project was a great little project for a small amount of yarn. I loved how the Home Town yarn by Lion Brand crocheted up.
Since my children are now adults, and 2 of them live in different states and have significant others, our holiday traditions have been evolving over the last couple of years. One of our new traditions is to now draw names for the big gift, but then give everyone a stocking stuffer. So far this tradition has been a lot of fun. This past holiday season on of the stocking stuffers I received was a skein of yarn, and in my favorite color, too!
My Dilemma
You guessed it! It was purple! It was a Lion Brand Home Town, Portland Wine bulky yarn. My dilemma has been what to make from this single skein of yarn. After a few weeks of contemplating this, I decided to try a new stitch and make a winter scarf for myself.
Project Complete
Well, my first attempt, unfortunately, did not work out as I had thought. The one single skein was not enough to complete the scarf. An ear warmer it would be. I chose a simple pattern I found on The Unraveled Mitten called the Two Track Ear Warmer. The pattern was designed for a bulky yarn and looks like a two track road. And the best part of it all was that she used the exact same yarn brand and color! I was pumped!
The ear warmer turned out amazing and I had enough left to make a second ear warmer. I decided to see if I could find more of this same yarn to make myself a matching scarf. The local Micheal’s Crafts Store did not disappoint! I purchased a second skein and quickly whipped out a scarf. I used the same stitch pattern as the ear warmer and now I have a matching set of winter weather gear!
This beautiful crochet scarf and ear warmer Christmas project was so easy to make. Again, the directions for the ear warmer are found here and were easy to follow. Hence, they made a great sounding board for the scarf.
