The Forked Cluster

SKILL LEVEL Intermediate or advanced Beginner

MULTIPLES Any number of chains + 4

PROJECT IDEAS Shawls, scarves, blankets,

If you love beautiful and unique stitches, then the forked cluster should be on your list to learn. Not only is the Forked Cluster Stitch is a beautiful stitch, but it adds tons of texture to any project. And best of all, this stitch is fun to make. This reversible stitch works well for blankets, scarves, wash clothes, as well as many other projects.

The forked cluster stitch is worked by crocheting 2 double crochet stitches together to create an interesting and exciting texture. So, if you love texture like me, you will absolutely love this stitch. For this stitch you will insert the hook in two adjoining stitches, hence why it is called a cluster stitch. The beginning of each stitch will begin in the last stitch made. Then work the second step in the following stitch. Hence, creating the forked look using two clusters.

Because the forked cluster stitch lends itself to many different styles of patterns, the possibilities are endless. Although, I have linked some different patterns here that use this stitch, I encourage you to try creating your own project. So, here is your chance to start with trying something small like a hat or scarf.
