THE YARN: Lion Brand Mandala Ombre’, Happy

While browsing the yarn at Walmart, a cake of Mandala yarn by Lion Brand caught my eye. The bright colors of the yarn just made me smile. I thought to myself, this yarn just makes me feel happy. So I turned the yarn cake over to read the color name of the yarn. Chuckling to myself, I decided right then and there I was going to buy a couple cakes of this yarn. I wasn’t sure what I would make from the Happy yarn, but I was still going to get it.

After looking at the yarn cake for a while, I decided I would make a scarf from it. Now, I just needed a pattern or stitch to use with it. After testing some new stitches I had found, I thought it would be cool to try the Forked cluster stitch. I am so glad I did, the scarf turned out amazing!

THE HAPPY SCARF; A forked CLuster Stitch Scarf

The forked cluster stitch creates groups of clusters by working across multiple stitches. This technique creates a fork look at the bottom of the stitch. The stitch also creates a unique texture that is fun, as well as eye appealing.

Don’t forget to check out the Forked Cluster Stitch in my stitch library. As one of my favorite stitches, I think it should be in everyone’s stitch repertoire. It is a great stitch for scarves, shawls and even blankets, and works great with many kinds of yarn.
