Beautiful and Colorful Cluster V-Stitch Crochet Throw

While looking for a pattern for my youngest child’s graduation gift, I came across the double crochet cluster v-stitch. I was soon inspired to create an afghan using it. Hence, this beautiful and colorful cluster v-stitch crochet throw evolved. It was a perfect blend of colors, textures, and coziness all wrapped into one blanket.

Crochet Traditions

Traditions are a part a big part of our family, as well as that of every family. They can be started accidently or purposefully. After years of crocheting gifts for my loved ones, it certainly has become one of my traditions. As a result, I have made each of my nieces and nephews a blanket for their High School Graduation. My own children, of course, were part of this tradition. Why? Because I wanted each of them to have a keepsake to carry with them through the new stage of life that they were about to embark upon. Above all, each blanket was made with the recipient at the heart of every stitch and design.

My daughter was the last of these young people to cross that bridge from high school to adult life. But it was time to take on this final graduation gift of love. However, she wanted it to be big, bold, and warm. As always, I let my kids choose the colors, and this time was not exception. She certainly did a phenomenal job of choosing the colors.

a search for something new and bold

While searching for something different, I came across a blanket made with similar colors to those my daughter chose. The pattern of the colors jumped out at me, but I still needed a stitch. Then I came across the Cluster V stitch. Finally, my inspiration was sparked and the end product was a bold, warm, cluster v-stitch crochet throw.
