Double Crochet

SKILL LEVEL Very Easy/Basic Beginner

MULTIPLES Any number of chains

PROJECT IDEAS Blanket, scarf, hat, towel, pot holders

The double crochet is another of the six basic stitches. It is commonly found in many patterns as well as other stitch combinations. As a taller stitch, visible gaps are seen between the stitches. The stitch creates a more open fabric that drapes well. Because of its height, you can make great progress with a project. This is by far, the most common or popular stitch of the basic stitches.

Although, I have linked some different patterns here that use this stitch, I encourage you to try creating your own project. So, here is your chance to start with trying something small like a hat or scarf.
