Easy Dinosaur Tracks Baby Afghan

I just have to tell you about this cute and easy Dinosaur Tracks Baby Afghan! My inspiration came from Hobby Lobby’s Dinosaur display for kids room. I just knew I had to make an afghan to go with it. The display reminded me of yarn I had left over from another project. They would be the perfect colors.

So, now I had the perfect inspiration for colors and immediately knew it striped. I grabbed my colors from my yarn stash and played with different stitches. While scrolling through Pinterest I found a post from Daisy Farm Crafts that had the perfect color and stitch pattern! My excitement couldn’t be contained!

Daisy Farm Crafts adds a children’s book to the baby blankets and make a gift set. This is a great idea ladies!! I love children’s books! The idea of making a gift set with the blanket and book makes my heart leap for joy! After beginning this baby blanket, it dawned on me that I had the perfect children’s book to go with it. The book The Ten Terrible Dinosaurs completes the set! I couldn’t wait to finish it and make the set ready to go to the perfect new little boy.

Easy Dinosaur Tracks Baby Afghan

I am calling this cute little baby blanket “Dinosaur Tracks Baby Afghan” simply because of where I got my inspiration. After beginning the project, the DC V-Stitches in the pattern began to look like dinosaur tracks, it was the perfect name. The body of the afghan was created with DC V-stitch throughout and the border consists of two rows of single crochets.

The pattern works up quickly and is not a yarn eater. Literally, I used less than 4 skeins of yarn. I chose to use I Love This Yarn (by Hobby Lobby) in the colors of Keylime (1 skein), Dark Country Blue (1 skein), and white (2skeins).

This pattern worked up so easily and quickly, another one was in order. So, for the second one, I reversed the colors, making the blue a more dominate color. Now I have two baby blankets that look great together, maybe for a set of twin boys!
