Half Double Crochet Slip Stitch

SKILL LEVEL Very Easy/Basic Beginner

MULTIPLES Any number of chains

PROJECT IDEAS Hat, scarf, blanket. potholder, towel

This stitch combines two basic stitches, the half double crochet and the slip stitch, into one stitch. As a result a beautiful texture is created. The stitch is great with any kind of yarn or hook sizes, which makes it a very versatile stitch. I love using this stitch for ribbing on a hat or for a ribbed look in a scarf. Not only that, it works great in other smaller projects like face scrubbies or pot holders as well as in larger ones like blankets. In addition, combining it with other stitches creates another amazing look! Then, once you have the hang of this stitch, try it in the front loop or back loop only to create a beautiful knitted look.
