Half Double Crochet Stitch
SKILL LEVEL Very Easy/Basic Beginner
MULTIPLES Any number of chains
PROJECT IDEAS Blankets, hats, headbands, scarves
The half double crochet stitch is a great basic stitch that can be used for many different projects. I love using this stitch for baby blankets because it creates a beautiful drape. It is not as dense as the single crochet, not as loose and tall as the double crochet. Creating a pattern with multiple colors and making stripes adds to the eye appealing stitch. It also works great with bulky yarns and a large hook.
