The Blanket Stitch

SKILL LEVEL Easy or Beginner

MULTIPLES Multiples of 3 + 1

PROJECT IDEAS Blanket, hat, shawl

This is a great “go-to” stitch for so many different projects.  Not only does the blanket stitch, also called the Marshmallow Stitch, create a dense fabric, it also works great for scarves, hats, or washcloths. The stitch uses the beginner-friendly single crochet and double crochet stitches and it works up quickly and easily. The variation in height of the stitches gives this stitch a beautiful texture that is great with many different kinds of yarns.
