Single Crochet
SKILL LEVEL Very Easy/Basic Beginner
MULTIPLES Any number of chains
PROJECT IDEAS Blanket, scarf, hat, towels, coasters
The single crochet is the first of many basic crochet stitches. It is easy to make and makes a dense fabric that is good for small projects. This stitch is also a great stitch to use with other stitches to add texture, or alternate in rows. Combine this stitch with the double crochet and it helps to create a bumpy texture because of the differing stitch heights. You will find this stitch as a part of many other stitch combinations.
